Whiterock Entertainment is deeply saddened at yet another tragic loss strikes at the heart of Bollywood. We were shellshocked when the news came in of the tragic death of Sushant Singh Rajput. This tragedy has left so many questions, surely Bollywood must introspect in an effort to prevent future such tragedies

Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant started his career as a background dancer at the 51st Film Fare Awards show in 2005. He then progressed to acting in stage plays when Balaji Telefilms asked him to audition. As a  result of which he landed his first television acting role in 2008, as Preet Juneja in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. Rajput gave such an enigmatic performance, that the show was forced to re-write an appearance after the character was killed off early.

He was a great dancer and performed in Australia’s cultural programme at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games. He went on to participate in India’s popular dance shows, ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’ and the dance reality show called ‘Jahlak Dikhla Ja‘.

He auditioned for the movie ‘Kai Po Che‘ in 2014 and was selected to do one of the three lead roles. The movie was a great success and Rajput gained the nomination for Film Fare Awards! He was loved by the critics as well as the general public and this gave him a great start in his acting career and as a bankable film star. After this, year on year, Sushant gave us successful hits and staggering character performances.

The Rumours

We are saddened by the many rumours and follow up articles after the loss of Sushant. He came across as an intensely private person. Ever the gentleman, ever the perfectionist in his craft, we would like to remember him for the brilliance he gave us. At such a young age, he achieved some high goals and left a mark in our industry and has given us a lot to think about. He was a very promising performer and actor. We lived in hope that we would be seeing some more amazing work and are deeply saddened by the loss.

Mental Health and Acting

Acting, performing and stardom are very pressure intensive fields. A world once personal becomes public domain. Sometimes, it’s difficult to speak to someone and air your problems, or to find an alternative avenue where you can seek counsel. We do not know the circumstances surrounding the death of Sushant, we wouldn’t be ignorant enough to say we understood, but we implore that you don’t hold things inside and we ask that if you ever have thoughts that are self-damaging, please speak to someone. There should be no pride in pursuing your optimal health and wellbeing both mentally and physically. You may be surprised as to how many people may be going through a similar situation to you and that they too are trying to cope.

All over the world, everyone is saddened with the news and the circumstances of Sushant’s departure. Sadly, we cannot turn back the clock, we cannot bring back Sushant Singh Rajput, we can however learn from this that maybe our friends are struggling about something and we need to reach out to them in time.

Sushant Singh Rajput was a beautiful person, amazing performer, captivating persona. Our hopes of seeing the next big thing coming out of Bollywood are dimmed with this loss. Rest in peace young brother, You will be fondly remembered.
