EPISODE 13: SAJJAD ALI
Sajjad Ali is a semi-classical, pop and trained singer who carry the traits of a complete artist. From being highly sound in singing to writing amazing poetry, he knows how to do it all. Since his career began he has been a singer, writer, director and producer. No one can deny the fact that he is the most perfect singer that the Pakistani showbiz industry has produced in the current era. Sajjad Ali was born on 24th August in Lahore to a traditional musical family. His father, Sajan was an actor and had appeared in films. And his uncle, Tassaduq Husain was the one who trained Sajjad in classical music. His uncle used to play along with legends such as Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustad Barkat Ali Khan, and Ustad Mubariq Ali khan. This gave an edge to Sajjad Ali’s exposure as he used to be around his uncle a lot.
Sajjad made his television debut in a program, ‘Aap Janab’ by Athar Shah Khan. After this, he appeared in ‘Rung Barangi Duniya’ by musician Sohail Rana. He also performed in the program Rag Rung in 1980 at the age of 14, however on the 25th anniversary of PTV’s stage show, called Silver Jubilee by Shoaib Mansoor, Sajjad got real fame through the song, Banwari Chakori, originally sung by Noor Jehan. Noor Jehan was present at that show and she praised Sajjad Ali for his talent and amazing performance.
Sajjad Ali’s career has faced many highs and lows but he is still considered the best. Whiterock Entertainment team, being a big fan of Sajjad Ali, are proud to present this Monumentary on his life and achievements. And we hope to see more of his work.
