Om Puri, claimed to be the poor man’s artist, was one of the finest actors that the Hindi Cinema has created. A career of about 5 decades, Om Puri has managed to entertain all generations with his unique style of acting and performances.
A true method actor, who only loved and lived for acting, belonged from a very poor family. He had to often starve because there was not enough food for the family. Moreover, he was very young when his father passed away and left him on his own.
A very hardworking person even as a child, he started to work as a waiter to feed himself and pay for his education. He held to this dedication throughout his life which helped him to be the actor that the world witnessed him be.
From quitting his well-paid job at a lawyers office to be in a theatre play to be the most demanded actor in the industry, there is a lot in Om Puri’s life from which one can learn. A young guy who almost left acting because everyone around him used to speak good English and he did not know the language very well. The same guy managed to do 22 foreign English Films.
